    and therein lays the fallacy. You do not pollute perfectly decent scotch with ice cubes! If you regularly drop ice cubes in your Laphroig 17y/o single malt you deserve all the thyphus you can get from them

    Ivan, where does one get 17 year old laphroig? I’ve had the 10, 10 cask, 15 and 30.

    You’re supposed to open up good scotch with a bit of water; it’s too alcoholic to fully taste otherwise. And therein lies the cause of our 20th century plague of malformation.

    opening up a good scotch != droping two icecubes on it. And actually you do not need the water even, you can ‘air’ it gof a bit. Laphroig 17:
